Congratulations Annabel

Well done Hinxworth junior archer Annabel for achieving her Gold Badge in the Archery GB Junior Badge Scheme in the under 12s category.  The first Hinxworth junior to work her way though all five badges and be awarded a gold badge.  We are very proud of her.

Trophy Winners

At the Club's AGM on 28th March 2023 the Chairman’s Cup was awarded to Steve W. for his work creating, updating and maintaining the new Club website. The Junior Star trophy was awarded to Annabel for her consistent attendance, improvement and successful participation in the AGB Junior Badge Scheme.

He's still got it!

Congratulations Ben for taking first place in the County Compound Portsmouth competition on 11th February 2023 within weeks of re-joining the Club after a few years absence.  Well done.

Annual General Meeting 2023

The AGM for 2022/23 will be at 7:00pm on Tuesday 28th March in the Hinxworth Village Hall.  All members are invited to attend.  Coffee/tea and cake will be served afterwards.

Well done Neil

Announced in the Winter 2022 of the Archery GB magazine, Neil will be representing GB as part of the Performance Archery Team in the 2023 competition season.  Wishing you the best of luck, Neil.

Party Party

Everyone enjoyed the Club's Christmas Party in the Village Hall on Saturday 10th December.  The Chinese Raffle was a hilarious revelation for those new Club members for whom this was their first Club celebration. A huge thank you to all those members and family who volunteered and made the party a great success.

Ghostly goings on

Lucky for us...the rain stopped just as we started the  Halloween Fun Shoot...and it was fun!  Taking first place with his stick bow (and it was a stick) was Neil with 142 points, second was Sean with 119 points and in third place was new Club member Stefano with 104 points.

Autumn/Winter events

For the first time since 2019 the Club will be hosting two big events before the end of the year.  A Halloween Horror fun shoot on Sunday 30th October and a Christmas Party in the Village Hall on Saturday 10th December.  Details have been circulated to members.

Winter Indoor Shooting

We are pleased the Barn at Edworth will be available for indoor shooting on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings over the winter, starting on the 12th of October. 19 Club members have booked a space in the Barn.

HAA Summer League 2022

Congratulations to our Longbow team who came 1st in the Hertfordshire Archery Association's Summer League.  Our Compound A team came 2nd. Our Compound B team and Barebow teams both took 4th positions.  Well done, and thank you, to all our members who submitted scores for the League over the summer.

And more

We are very happy to welcome to our Club six more new members straight from our July 2022 beginners course.

Lots of beginners

We welcomed seven beginners to the start of our current course on Saturday 9th July with four more to join the course over the next few weeks.  It is pleasing to see archery is proving very popular over the last couple of years.

Welcome

We are very happy to have several people from the April 2022 beginners course join the Club.   A warm welcome is extended to all of you.

Training Co-ordinator

Glenn has taken up the role of Training Co-ordinator, a new role within the Club, and will be responsible to managing the beginners' courses.

A good job

A huge thank you to the small working party who cleared out the containers on Sunday 22nd May.  It desperately needed doing and we have gained much needed space and access room.

Have-a-go

To celebrate Archery GB's Start Archery Week  we held a 'Have-a-go'  on Saturday 14th May 2022 on the Recreation Ground.   It was a fine sunny afternoon and over 30 members of the public attended with a number expressing interest in joining our beginners' course.
