The Summer League
In the Hertfordshire Archery Association Summer League 2024, the Club's teams finished 1st in Compound, 2nd in Longbow and 4th in Recurve. In the Compound competition Neil had the highest individual score with David Wh. 3rd, Steve W's individual Longbow score was 2nd highest with Dave C’s Longbow score at 5th place.
Well done and thanks to all who submitted scores for the Leagues
over the summer season.
Spooky goings on
Ghostly happenings on the Rec. on Sunday 27th October 2024 at the Club's Halloween Fun Shoot.
The Senior trophy was won by Bob S. with Richard O. in 2nd place and Neil B. in 3rd. The Junior trophy was won by Emilia with Annabel in 2nd place. Special mention to David O.
who had the highest score for a single end.
So good to see so many of our new members attending and two of them winning trophies!
Club Tournament 2024
A dry gap in the rainy weather allowed a Club Tournament to take place on the morning of Sunday 6thOctober. We were pleased that some of our newest members took part in the shoot. The tournament was followed by a Bring & Share lunch in the Village Hall.
Medals were awarded for top scores in each bow type/round. Shooting a National round: Neil for compound, Jack for recurve, Steve W. for longbow. Shooting a National30 round: Roger for recurve, Richard C. for longbow and Thomas B. for barebow.

A win!
A win for the Hinxworth Team on Sunday 18th August against Green Dragon Bowmen of Knebworth in the Hertfordshire Archery Association's Summer League. Well done all those who shot.
A UK Master
At Lilleshall over the weekend of 29th/30th June, Neil won the UK Masters coming first out of 22 in the compound competition. 144 arrows were shot making Neil’s total score 1404. Brilliant shooting, congratulations from the whole Club.
A Great Start to the summer season
Our team of Neil, Bob, Rob, Jack and Sally won the first match of the Hertfordshire Archery Association's 2024 Summer League on Sunday 26th May competing against Stortford Archery Club. Well done all of you!
Honorary Member
We are happy to announce longtime member of the Club, Derek Bridgewater, has been awarded honorary membership in grateful recognition of his many achievements,
hard work and dedication to the Club over many years. Thank you, Derek.
Hertfordshire Archery Association Winter Leagues results
The final results are in for the HAA Winter Leagues 2023/24. In the Portsmouth competition our compound and longbow teams team were 1st and recurves in 4th place in Division 2. In the Portsmouth compound competition best individual scores were for compound Neil 1st place and David Wh. 3rd, in longbow Steve W. 1st and Christopher B. 7th and in recurve Jack was 23rd.
In the Frostbite competition our compound team finished 1st; longbows 3rd and recurves 5th in division 1. Best individual scores in the Frostbite competition were for compound Neil 1st and David Wh. 3rd, for longbow Steve W. 3rd and Dave C. 5th, for recurve Jack was 16th.
Thank you to all our archers putting in scores for the HAA and Selby Winter Leagues over the season.
2024 Annual General Meeting
At the Club's AGM, which took place in the Village Hall On Tuesday 2nd April, the Chairman’s Cup was awarded to Kath for her work as Club Secretary and undertaking Session Coach training.
The Junior Star trophy was awarded to James for his consistent attendance, attending additional coaching sessions and successful participation in the AGB Junior Badge Scheme.

On the 3rd of March 2024, at the Hertfordshire Vs Bedfordshire Intercounty Match, our compound archers Neil and David W. won the Carol Owen Compound Challenge Trophy.

Hertfordshire Archery Association’s Winter League 2023/24
At the end of February with one month to go, in the Portsmouth competition our Compound team and Longbow team are both in 1st place with our Recurves 4th in Division 2. In the Portsmouth compound competition best individual scores are Neil in 1st place and David Wh. in 3rd; in Longbow Steve W. 1st, Christopher B. 8th and Dave C. 10th.
In the Frostbite competition our Compound team are 1st; Longbows 4th and Recurves 6th in division 1. Best individual scores are Neil 1st and David Wh. 3rd in Compound; Steve W. 3rd and Dave C. 6th in Longbow. Well done and thank you to all archers putting in scores over the winter season.
County Indoor Shoot
Well done, Steve W., for coming 3rd in the longbow competition of the Hertfordshire Archery Association County and Indoor Championships on Sunday 11th February 2024.
Christmas is here!
29 Club members attended the Christmas Party in the Village Hall on 2nd December, starting the seasonal festivities in fine style.
A National Champion
Neil competed in the 2023 National Indoor Championships at StoneleighPark, Warwickshire, over 1st/2nd December and won the Men's Compound 50+ competition.
