Hinxworth Archers Summer Picnic
The Club are holding a Picnic on the Rec. after morning shooting on Sunday 29th June - details will be sent to members nearer the date.
Results of the Winter Leagues 2024/25
Our teams’ final positions were:
Hertfordshire Archery Association (HAA)
Portsmouth – Longbow 1st in Div. 1, 4th in Div. 2; Compound 4th; Recurve and Barebow both 6th.
Frostbite – Compound and Longbow 1st; Recurve and Barebow 5th.
Hertfordshire Archery Society (HAS)
Portsmouth – Longbow 2nd; Compound 3rd; Recurve and Barebow both 4th.
Selby Postal League
Portsmouth – Recurve 1st in Div.10; Longbow 1st in Div. 3; Compound 4th in Div. 1.
Frostbite – Recurve 4th in Div. 5; Compound 5th in Div. 1; Longbow 4th in Div. 2.
Intercounty League (formerly Southern Counties Archery Society)
Hertfordshire came 2nd in Longbow, Compound and Juniors; Recurve 4th and Barebow 6th.

We are entered in the HAA, HAS and Selby Summer 2025 Leagues.
Change of seasons
The final session of Winter indoor shooting in the Barn will be Friday 11th April. Summer evening outdoor shooting sessions on Wednesday and Friday evenings will begin on Wednesday 16th April. Sunday morning shooting will continue as usual.
2025 Annual General Meeting
The Club's AGM will be held on Tuesday 25th March from 7:30pm in Hinxworth Village Hall. Coffee/tea and cake will be served after the meeting. All members are invited to to attend this meeting, as matters concerning you and your Club will be discussed. All members’ views contribute to setting the Club’s course for the 2025/26 season.

Over the summer Sally submitted scores to the Archery GB 'Aim for Paris Virtual Challenge' and came a very successful 6th in the Recurve Novice (under 2 years) 30 metres category. ​
The Summer League
In the Hertfordshire Archery Association Summer League 2024, the Club's teams finished 1st in Compound, 2nd in Longbow and 4th in Recurve. In the Compound competition Neil had the highest individual score with David Wh. 3rd, Steve W's individual Longbow score was 2nd highest with Dave C’s Longbow score at 5th place.

Spooky goings on
Ghostly happenings on the Rec. on Sunday 27th October 2024 at the Club's Halloween Fun Shoot.

The Senior trophy was won by Bob S. with Richard O. in 2nd place and Neil B. in 3rd. The Junior trophy was won by Emilia with Annabel in 2nd place. Special mention to David O.
who had the highest score for a single end.​​​

So good to see so many of our new members attending and two of them winning trophies!


Club Tournament 2024
A dry gap in the rainy weather allowed a Club Tournament to take place on the morning of Sunday 6thOctober. We were pleased that some of our newest members took part in the shoot. The tournament was followed by a Bring & Share lunch in the Village Hall.
Medals were awarded for top scores in each bow type/round. Shooting a National round: Neil for compound, Jack for recurve, Steve W. for longbow. Shooting a National30 round: Roger for recurve, Richard C. for longbow and Thomas B. for barebow.
Well done medal winners and all those taking part.
A win!
A win for the Hinxworth Team on Sunday 18th August against Green Dragon Bowmen of Knebworth in the Hertfordshire Archery Association's Summer League. Well done all those who shot.​​
A UK Master
At Lilleshall over the weekend of 29th/30th June, Neil won the UK Masters coming first out of 22 in the compound competition. 144 arrows were shot making Neil’s total score 1404. Brilliant shooting, congratulations from the whole Club.
A Great Start to the summer season
Our team of Neil, Bob, Rob, Jack and Sally won the first match of the Hertfordshire Archery Association's 2024 Summer League on Sunday 26th May competing against Stortford Archery Club. Well done all of you!
